Carve won the prestigious Paysage "Iconic Landscape" Award in the section Playscapes.

On June 22nd, 2018 PAYSAGE – Promotion and Development for Landscape Architecture, in collaboration with the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservatives and the Triennale of Milan, organized the International Symposium and Award ceremony:

THE LANDSCAPE AS STRATEGY

The fourth edition of the Symposium City_Brand & Tourism Landscape took place in the Honour Hall of the Triennale Palace in Milan.

Born with the goal of promoting Landscape Architecture in the various areas of design, City_Brand & Tourism Landscape Award and Symposium aims to reflect about the future of the urban landscape in search of best practices able to promote, within the Landscape Architecture, effective strategies and projects capable of bestrowing new ethical, economic and social values to the territories.

The Prize is awarded in different catogories of which the "Iconic Landscape" is one. In this category Carve won the Iconic Landscape Award for City Play Projects.

The award was given for the original and innovative approach of designing playscapes, as places that encourage children to play and learn in their own way while preserving fun and joy of moving freely, both in natural environment and urban spaces. As moral heir of Aldo van Eyck, Elger Blitz with his studio Carve has pointed out in recent years the need to convert “spaces” into “places”, while adding something new that caters for the unexpected. And certainly grown ups are invited to join, because playgrounds are meant to be meeting places for the whole community, allowing to connect and interact in a natural way."
