The Liedekerkepark is closed in by buildings, in a dense city neighbourhood with narrow streets and tiny boardwalks. The park is well used: the Liedekerkepark is one of the very few publicly accessible green spaces in this part of Brussels.
Carve and Artgineering made a design for the redevelopment of the Liedekerkepark, which is old and worn-down in the current situation. Its park-like quality, with a sandy surface and large trees, will be strengthened even more by creating a sandy space from wall to wall. A raised wooden pathstructure knits everything together – becomes a playobject, a seating element and a terrace. The project is likely to start this autumn, as is the participation process with the neighbourhood.
